Five Sparrows isn't just another program—it's a lifeline. We're a faith-based, two-year residential recovery program rooted in Twelve Step principles where women survivors of violence and trauma, substance use disorder, and exploitation find their strength again. With a maximum of 10 residents, you'll know every story, celebrate every victory, and be part of genuine, life-changing moments over the full two-year journey.

What You'll Do

The Development Director will design and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and resource development to ensure financial sustainability and growth. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role will manage donor relationships, oversee fundraising initiatives, and create compelling communications that advance our mission.

Fundraising & Donor Relations

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing individual donors, foundations, grantmakers, churches, and corporate partners
• Identify and cultivate new funding sources to diversify revenue streams
• Develop and implement strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship
• Create and execute annual fundraising plans with measurable goals
• Oversee grant research, writing, and reporting processes

Events & Communications

• Plan and execute fundraising events, including logistics, promotion, and follow-up
• Manage social media accounts and digital fundraising campaigns
• Create compelling content for newsletters, annual reports, and fundraising materials
• Share client success stories while maintaining appropriate boundaries and privacy

Strategic Leadership

• Work collaboratively with the Executive Director to develop fundraising strategies
• Establish planned giving and legacy donation programs
• Track fundraising metrics and prepare reports for leadership and board
• Balance growth initiatives with nurturing our grassroots donor community
• Build and lead event, gratitude, and fundraising volunteer teams
• Represent the organization at community events and speaking engagements

• Able to inspire others through authentic storytelling

What We're Looking For

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passion for supporting women in recovery and criminal justice reform
• Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education
• Experience with fundraising databases and social media management, preferred
• 3+ years of nonprofit development experience, preferred
